About a month ago Eric Mahoney stopped by the Blind Barber to get ad haircut and invited me to the Advanced Screening of his documentary, North Dixie Drive. The night has come and I can’t wait to see it later.

My good homey and Co-worker at the Blind Barber, Gogy Esparza released his 1st Photo Book, LIGHTTIME, this past April. He had a dope release part at La Esquina here in NYC and anyone that made it out will tell you that it was a ZOO in there.
In October, he made a trip out to Japan to put on a Photo Exhibition for LIGHTTIME in Tokyo, at Le Baron. In the video above, Gogy documented his trip, including the Making of the Photo Show and Party Footage.
This is a trailer off North Dixie Drive, a documentary created by my friend and client, Eric Mahoney, about his Hometown. There are definitely some gnarly characters in this neighborhood. Lol. I can’t wait to see it.
North Dixie Drive is the portrait of a small community of businesses and people residing in a tiny section of Dayton, OH. It is the story of big time wrestlers, mechanics, a donut salesmen, a homeless country singer, barbers, strippers and car repo men. This eccentric collection of people live and work around a traffic circle situated along highway I-75, and fight to keep their lives and careers afloat in a failing economy. Often compared to the Errol Morris film, Vernon, Florida, this debut feature by Brooklyn, NY filmmaker Eric Mahoney showcases an off beat group of characters in today’s Middle America (North Dixie Drive)
Eric visited me at Blind Barber last night for a haircut. We chopped it up and discussed North Dixie Drive briefly. I’m eager to see the premiere at the advanced screening – more info below. Eric gets a texturized scissor cut, more of a natural look. Above is a Post-Haircut picture.

Last Wednesday, Terrell Owens and Alzheimer’s Association hosted a charity event at the Blind Barber to raise funds that would aid in research for the disease. Here are a couple of photos from that night.
Pras (Fugees) came through, it was kind of random but nostalgic.
