I know I’m a little behind here, but Recently while watching MTV Jams, I noticed the homey Gilbere Forte‘s video “Black Chukkas” came on. Here’s a screenshot from the Blackberry.

What’s up with that, Mr. Forte?! Lol Maybe next time you visit New York. (BTW, You are more than Welcome here, one of the owners is from South Jersey near Philly.)

Trying to both an Artist and a Business Man can be very difficult sometimes. But it is also very difficult trying to be able to Produce Art and staying in the know and being current with the Latest.
I believe that all Artists/Producers start as Fans/Consumers but one man (or woman) can only Consume so much without letting it get in the way of actually Producing (or staying Productive).
Especially with the oversaturation of shit (both good and bad) due to Technology and the Internet nowadays, it can be really difficult to keep up. And also make time to Do My Own Thing.
On top of that, I have a dayjob as a Barber. I spend 40-50 hours a week working on other people’s image and often neglecting my own. (“long hair, don’t care” -Dwayne Carter)
So I usually spend a ton of time on the internet (with the exception of these past few weeks, my computer crashed 
maybe it was nice to have a vacation from the laptop) but most of the things I learn and know about are through daily interaction with other people as a Barber. I’m blessed to have a day job that also works as resource to meeting and maintaing relationships with cool people who able to share valuable information.
When it comes to music, my good homey (Asian) Dan is someone that really knows his shit. Either when conversing with Dan while in the Barber Chair, or when I’m lurking on his Blog, Asian Man Dan, He has put me on (and continues to put me on) to a lot of new music and saves me a lot of time and effort that I would have to spend searching on my own. Very recently, he made a blog post listing his favorite tunes of Last Year.
